Psychotherapy and Counselling Services for Individuals, Adults & Children
Services I Offer
Individual Therapy & Counselling Services
During an individual therapy session, a client works one-on-one with a trained mental health clinician in a safe, caring, and confidential environment.
In individual therapy, we work together to establish a trusting relationship and focus on improving your mental well-being.
Individual therapy can help people deal with mental health challenges, relationship issues, life stressors and emotional distress that affects their everyday functioning. I offer individual therapy services to clients dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health issues.
Therapy for WSIB MVA and Refugees
I offer compassionate, culturally sensitive therapy for refugees, supporting individuals who may be experiencing the emotional and psychological impact of displacement, migration, trauma, loss, and resettlement in a new country. This form of counselling recognizes the complex challenges refugees often face and provides a supportive space to process these experiences safely and respectfully.
My approach is grounded in trauma-informed care and may include supportive counselling, mindfulness-based therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and strengths-based interventions. All therapeutic work is thoughtfully adapted to your cultural background, personal values, and lived experiences.
Refugee counselling can support concerns such as trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, chronic stress, identity challenges, and cultural adjustment. Therapy sessions focus on building emotional safety, resilience, and self-understanding while honouring your personal story and strengths.
I understand that seeking mental health support can feel vulnerable, especially after experiences of war, forced relocation, loss, or systemic hardship. My goal is to provide a safe, respectful, and empowering therapeutic space where you are met with compassion and understanding. Healing is approached at your own pace, with care given to how migration and resettlement can affect mental health, identity, relationships, and overall well-being.
I provide online therapy for refugees across Ontario and Alberta, making culturally responsive mental health support accessible and confidential.
Child Therapy & Counselling
Child therapy is offered through individual, one-on-one counselling sessions designed to support children in a safe, caring, and age-appropriate therapeutic environment. For younger children, parents or caregivers are typically involved in the initial intake session to share background information, concerns, and relevant family or school factors.
Children’s counselling can support a wide range of challenges that impact a child’s everyday functioning at home, school, and in social settings. Many children experience difficulties with emotions, thoughts, or behaviours that—if left unaddressed—can affect their long-term mental health and emotional well-being.
My approach to child therapy is grounded in compassion, empathy, and trust-building. I focus on creating a supportive relationship where children feel comfortable expressing their thoughts, emotions, and challenges at their own pace.
I offer therapy for children ages 6 and older who may be experiencing:
- Anxiety or excessive worry
- Low mood or depression
- Difficulties with focus or attention
- School-related challenges
- Sleep concerns
- Family changes, including separation or divorce
- Low self-esteem or confidence
- Therapy sessions use developmentally appropriate strategies to help children:
- Build emotional awareness
- Learn healthy emotion regulation skills
- Improve communication and self-expression
- Strengthen self-confidence and coping skills
I provide child counselling services that are supportive, collaborative, and tailored to each child’s unique needs, helping them develop the skills they need to navigate life’s challenges with greater resilience.
Theraplay® Therapy
Theraplay® therapy is a play-based, interactive approach that focuses on strengthening the parent–child relationship. This evidence-informed therapy supports the development of secure attachment, emotional connection, and healthy interactions that contribute to a child’s long-term emotional and mental well-being.
Theraplay emphasizes the power of play, structure, engagement, and nurture. Sessions are activity-based and involve the therapist working closely with parents or caregivers to support positive, attuned interactions with their child. The goal is to help families build stronger connections, improve communication, and foster emotional safety within the relationship.
Theraplay therapy is typically short-term and structured, often consisting of 9–12 sessions. The process begins with an assessment session, which helps identify strengths and areas of need within the parent–child relationship. From there, a personalized treatment plan is developed to support reconnection, engagement, and relational growth.
I offer Theraplay therapy for families, parents, and children who may be experiencing challenges related to:
- Nurture and emotional connection
- Engagement and responsiveness
- Structure and boundaries within the relationship
- Attachment-related concerns
- Relationship stress following transitions or challenges
Theraplay provides a supportive and collaborative way for parents and children to strengthen their bond, build trust, and develop healthier interaction patterns in a safe and guided therapeutic setting.
