Theraplay Informed Therapy Level 1
My name is Farah Fatima, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario and Alberta supporting individuals, refugees, children, and caregivers as they navigate life’s challenges. I believe that everyone has the capacity to live a fulfilling, meaningful life — and that psychotherapy can be a powerful tool for healing, growth, and self-discovery.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology and am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). In addition to my private practice, I have worked within the not-for-profit sector, facilitating counselling groups focused on anger management and domestic violence prevention. This experience has deepened my commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive care.
I strongly value ongoing professional development and regularly participate in workshops, conferences, and required clinical training to ensure my counselling practice remains ethical, current, and evidence-based.
My Therapeutic Philosophy
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
— Carl Rogers
This quote guides both my personal values and my work as a psychotherapist. I believe that meaningful change begins with self-acceptance, curiosity, and compassion. At Safe Space Psychotherapy, we work together to gently explore your experiences, strengths, and goals — meeting you where you are, without judgment or pressure.
My approach is grounded in empathy, transparency, and respect, with a strong emphasis on building a safe and trusting client-therapist relationship. I believe this relationship is the foundation of effective therapy and long-term emotional well-being.
A Commitment to Your Well-Being
I am deeply passionate about helping clients create a more balanced, resilient, and meaningful life. I know — both professionally and personally — how important it is to invest in yourself. When we begin to care for our own mental and emotional health, the relationships in our lives often begin to improve as well.
Whether you are seeking support for emotional challenges, life transitions, trauma, or personal growth, my goal is to provide professional psychotherapy in Ontario that is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs.
